Revista Catolica
Revista Catolica was a Jesuit Catholic publication that ran from 1873 to 1962. The Jesuits of the Southwest were deep believers of the humanities and believed that publications would reach much further into the minds of their audience. Revista Catolica was created to combat Anti-Catholic sentiment in the Southwest. It began publishing in Las Vegas, Nevada, and ended its run in El Paso, Texas. The publication was founded by Father Donato Maria Gasparri, S. J, with only $1,650. It published bulletins, weekly periodicals, and books; including those written by the Lorretine Sister Lilliana Owens who wrote thoroughly about Father Pinto and the history of Sacred Heart Church. Father Garde, former pastor of Sacred Heart Church in 1929, was responsible for bringing the press to El Paso, where it ran until 1962.
